hi,

im having trouble making a program to send to my 16F84 chip to control a quad seven segment display. The display needs to act as a simple timer that counts how long a switch is pressed in seconds. ive got as far as to display 0-9 but i cant get the 10's to come up without iterfering with the 1's.

much appreciation to whoever replies. thank you

Sorry, I'm not familiar with flowcode but the advice I would offer is to split your problem in two, namely don't worry about the timing, can you simply get the display to show any number you like in the range 0000-9999 . Once you have control of the display, you can worry about the timing aspect.

Are all four digits freely addressable or are they multiplexed ?

I guess you can get better response if you post this at one of many Microchip PIC forums:
