I have the need for converting a rslogix program to pdf so as the file can be viewed without the rslogix software. is this possible without going to extremes.

Yes, print the report to PrimoPDF, a free download. There are many software pkgs out there that will print to PDF. It will act as an "emulated" printer port, and will look dandy for all to view.
