Yani, instead of playing Twenty Questions here, you should really contact your local Rockwell Automation distributor and have them walk you through the simple steps of getting this connected. While I appreciate that this is a neat public forum with helpful contributors, if I have to go through another PIC troubleshooting thread I'm going to scream.
Schaedler Yesco is the distributor who covers most of central Pennsylvania (if you're in *that* Millersville). Call and ask to talk to their PLC specialist and explain your situation.
If your university has an industrial technology program that doesn't have it's tools and documentation up to date, Rockwell and your distributor will likely appreciate the opportunity to get you set up with updates and introduced into the various educational toolkit programs that Rockwell Automation has.
As to your direct question: the first thing you need to do is build a workable DH-485 network using a 1747-AIC isolator module. The PanelView and the SLC-500 plug into the isolator, and then the 1747-PIC plugs into the PanelView terminal's other network plug.
If you happen to be using a computer with Windows XP, stop and go back to Step 1. You will not be able to make it work with the 1747-PIC driver and that long-obsolete version of RSLinx.
