panelview 550 repair?

I've got a monochrome 550 and the ends of the fiber cables at the bulb have melted together. Anyone know of repair facility or is this something I can fix? I've already found the post about Sterling and I'll contact them today.

I usually go the repair exchange route with AB. Although I do like the new series 550s with the LED much better. I hated those $75 light bulbs.

Make sure you're not missing the little quartz filter lens that goes between the high-intensity bulb and the fiber optic bundle. If that's missing, your new fiber bundle will melt, too.
