Hi guy's I've got a project coming up soon where I need a couple of fixed serial barcode scanners and be able to read both at the same time + a panelview. Is there a module for the SLC where I can add a couple of serial ports in the rack or do I need some sort of stand alone module.

Currenty I'm thinking that a 5/03 is what i'll be running with the DF1 (Channel 0) connected to a panelview 550 and I'll need some other form of serial input for the barcode scanners.

Any Idea's would be helpful!

For Bar Code Readers I normally use serial modules on DeviceNet. The PointIO modules are OK and relatively inexpensive but need to be mounted inside an enclosure. I normally use Escort Memory Systems CM11 modules which are more expensive but are very robust and do not need an enclosure.
