Keyspan 19hs

OK - one more time - no USB to Serial Port convertor works with the 1747-PIC.

The problem is that the protocol, DH485, requires the driver to be able to manipulate the serial port pins in a very time specific manner which the Windows drivers do not allow.

Even AB, with their USB device, is communicating to the device using a non-critical time dependent protocol, DF1. Inside the device the protocol is changed to DH485 and sent to an local serial device.
