PV1000 to CompactLogix

Hi we have a DF1 tochscreen PV1000 that we want to communicate with a L31 CompactLogix processor.
The problem is when we define a tag in panelbuilder, it says that it is an invalid tag for the terminal protocol.
we`re just given the name of the tag that we`re using on RSLogix 5000.
my question is :how to enter tags for this kind of processor?
any suggestion would be apreciated.

I did one of these a while back. If I remember correct you have very limited data types when using the DF1 protocol. I think you will need to use the PLC/SLC mapping to make this work.

In standard PanelViews only the Ethernet IP and ControlNet PanelViews can reference ControlLogix tags without mapping the data.

One little note in addition...the article references ControlLogix processors, this also applies to the CompactLogix.
