Hi

I'm working with a S-200 CPU224XP and i need to have it running as a profibus slave.
The problem is that i have a very limited experience with profibus and i have only used it with S300 in the past. The s200 manual i was looking at didn't mention much about profibus so i hope that someone here could get me started.

I dont know what kind of master that is going to be used but what i need to do with profibus is to send out a few bits from the slave (machine ready, alarm etc) and also to recieve some bits(start the machine etc)

So is anyone able to help me out on how to set this up? i'm feeling very lost right now :S

Tnx for the link but i think it might be broken, or was your intention to show me their support page and force me to think by myself? :D

If so..i have already done that and failed :(
i dont need to care about the master setup too much because that will be somebody elses problem ;)

Hey

We used an S7-215-2DP cpu as a slave of a S7-317-2DP cpu. Just to give some inputs to the 317.

In the attachment the S7-215 project,

Hope it helps...

Haha

here an explanation in dutch, hahaha

But maybe u can see that it works via the VW.

hope it helps

Hi,

You need the EM277 Profibus module to make the S7200 a profibus slave. The attachment should help you learn more about the EM277. Let me know if you have any questions. I recently finished a project connecting CPU224XP to CPU 313C.

this really wasn't intention... i've printed page to pdf and placed on my web for you... you just need and profibus module to yours s7-200 cpu http://www.alteruter.net/temp/plcs.net/smf/s7200_export.pdf

Hey

Its like they say, u first need the EM277 in your case

The 226XP can be a MPI slave, but not profibus DP

The 215-2DP didn't need these expansions, plc's cannot be bought anymore, but I liked these ones, the only thing not to like about was that u couldn't make parameterisable blocks, the new ones now can.

@all
Thank you guys very much, i think i get it now.

@Combo
Haha reading that dutch explanation wasn't very easy
