MS_Excel or...show information

Hi,

I would like to knonw if he exists something else i can use to show information using rslinx.

I only need to show the production lines status. I know that i can make something easily with excel, but i dont have "real" full screen mode.

I'm looking for something esle than a PV, something that i can use with standard pc/laptop with RSLinx.

So you already have the linx?

Then:

OPC ... free and easy
DDE ... free and easy

Both are plenty for what you need.

You could also pratice with a Demo version of any SCADA vendors. Nicer but in the end not so cheap. Thats unless you want to be online for just a few hours at a time.

And what is --->> "real" full screen mode.

You will need something other then RSLinx Lite ( Pro,OEM,Gateway,

single node). Here is how.

I think MGuenette has RSLinx OEM (or higher) allready. Hence the reference to Excel etc.
I think he asks how to easiliy and at lowest cost make a simple HMI.

How many tags ?
Only one application or several. How many ?

OPC /DDE and Excel ... (VBA is very easy).
