Am I missing something??? I have a CompactLogix platform in development with 1769-L35E processor that will use the 1769-OF4CI analog output module. Programming with RS logix 5000(Ver 15.01), this module does not appear on the "select module" menu. I did add a generic module to my I/O configuration and found the module info (KnowledgeBase ID#32804). But I am still unable to configure my output range or data format! What gives??

Thanks Ken for pointing me in the right direction. When I tried to find the download for this particular module before at the Rockwell site I had no success..

I have the same issue as the original poster (1769-OF4CI not in I/O list), except using Logix 500, ver 6.20. Any idea of how to access the module configuration? Thanks in advance...

Chris,

I checked and was unable to find an add on profile for RS Logix 500 for the 1769-OF4CI,that does not mean that one is not offered.

You will receive more support if you post a new thread if you have not already done so.

To get this add on profile for RS logix 500 you will need to create a profile on the rockwell site and have a support agreement using your toolkit serial number or your software serial number.

In any event, this is a great resource for you when you encounter an issue and need support.

Good luck..

RSLogix 500 doesn't use Add-On Profiles the way RSLogix 5000 does; new I/O modules need to be hard-coded into the software. I have version 7.10 and the 1769-OF4CI doesn't appear in the I/O selection there either.

Therfore, you have to use the "Other I/O Module" generic method to configure this module. It's described in Appendix B of the 1769-OF4CI User Manual.

http://literature.rockwellautomation.com/idc/groups/literature/documents/um/1769-um014_-en-p.pdf

The Module Type code I found in that Appendix B is a typo, though (it says 66, it should be 45). The correct codes can be found in the RA Knowledgebase, Answer ID # 32804.

In fact, go ahead and search the Knowledgebase with the keyword 1769-OF4CI to learn more about the module's configuration and operation characteristics. There are a few considerations you should know about when setting it up, for functions like hold-last-state and Engineering Units scaling.

Download a file from the new version of rslogix with an i/o config that has the cards you need... Email a friend or someone you know that has the newer version and have em send it to you. It will put the id in for you. (y)
