Pulse Timer

Extended Pulse Timer

Basically, a "pulse timer" will ONLY time while the rung conditions are true, but an "extended pulse timer" will finish timing whether or not the rung goes false before the timer expires. Both have their uses.

I assume that since they address the inputs as 'E" (eingang) and the outputs as 'A' (ausgang), that this is a German (or Austrian or Swiss) PLC. Is it Siemens?

PLCStudent, you were lucky. You provided no context and still got a good answer to your question in short order. You should be aware that other brands of PLC don't necessarily use the same terminology, and that it would be good practice in the future to include information about the brand and model of PLC with your questions.

Poorly constructed question

Pulse timer and extended pulse timer is not necessarily some sort of
industry standard nomenclature. This terminology is specific
to your application/ homework.
One shot and retriggerable one shot is most probably what your instructor had in mind. But then again I could be wrong.
