I have a contrologix plc Logix5561, bundled with a battery for the processor. I did my program, wired up the doodas, and plug in the battery. But the Battery indication showed there is a battery fault. upon checking I found the voltage to be 0.96VDC; and I tried to search sources to find out about the voltage of the battery, and I couldn't find any. Anyone knows what is the typical voltage range for the 1756-BA2 battery? The battery bundle sent by the supplier is dated July 2006, almost a year ago~!

Thanks!

I would try another battery. If it still problem then you have bad battery circuit and processor needs to be sent for repair

Battery is 3.6V

Which series of L61 do you have - A or B?

The series A exhibits the same issues as the L55's with the battery life being relatively short. Their fix is to use the BATM.

The issues is supposedly fixed in the series B of the L6x processors.

Ah Thanks so much Contr_Conn and Oakley~! My best guess would be a dead battery, as stated on my first post. :hmmm:
It's a B series, but as I do not have any spare batteries at hand, I rely mostly by estimation and asking questions here~!:thumb:
The supplier questions wether I am sure it's a faulty batt, and I told them to let me have another battery to detrmine the root of the problem, much to the guy's annoyance. Think he's peeved to come such a long way just to send another battery.

Thanks again guys~!

Probably a dead battery - not uncommon to get a new processor with a drained battery. The shelf life on these batteries is relatively short.

If the battery was in the PLC , and the PLC has been off for that long, July 2006, then the battery certainly was drained in that time frame. I think the standard battery will only last about 4-6 months under continous use.

Silly me not to have noticed it immediately.:banghead: I could have got a CF card for the processor earlier!! The supplier is very slow at delivering the replacement battery (He took a week to deliver one battery), and he never mention the slot for a CF card at all. I was looking through the processor card and there it was, a slit at a corner with the small letterings.
I went shopping for one as fast as I could. A 64MB card should be more than enough!
