Have a situtation here..need help.

Using a Micrologix 1500 HSC input. I have a mag pickup on a gear tooth. I want to convert that pulse into Cans/Min. At 1600 cans/min, I have 30,400 pulses per min.

How do I convert these pulses into CPM using the HSC?

Thanks.

If 30400 pulses correspond to 1600 cans per minute, then there are 19 pulses per can.

Does the Micrologix HSC allow you to report counts per time period like the SLC HSCE module? If so adjust your time period to 60/19 seconds (3158 milliseconds).

At 1600 cans per minute, your pulse rate will be 506.667 counts per second, and over 3.158 seconds you'll get a value of 1600 in your counts per time period register.
