Siemens 277 touch to slc500

I am having problems communicating between a siemens 277 touch and a Allen Bradley slc504. I have tried a 232 to 485 converter with out any success. Any help would be appreciated.

The 277 has a build in driver for AB SLC platform.
(I believe it's DF1 driver)
Try it, worked for me a while back (MP270).

I think that harrisoncw is referring to that the new panels in the x177 and x277 series do not have a RS232 port. The new panels still have RS422/RS485 so you have to use a converter to connect to CH0 on an SLC5/04.

We are using RS232/RS422 converters for SLC to OP270. I dont have access to the details right now.
Somehow Txd from one side has to go to Rxd on the other side, and vice-versa.
