Hello all. Having problems with a new Flex I/O 1794-IE8 (analog in) Series B. Using a Contrologix processor and communicating to the analog flex I/O over ethernet. Other flex I/O modules work with the AENT but not the analog. It gives me a 'connection time out' in the RSLogix 5000 I/O tree and the 1794-IE8 power LED does not come on. Is it a plain and simple power problem or perhaps a dead module? I have everything mounted on a steel DIN rail and well grounded. I read in the Rockwell knowledge base that the series B needs to be configured but I would have thought that the power LED would at least light up. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check basic stuff first.
- +24VDC and Common terminals have power?
- with power, remove module and look at bus connections looking for bent pins
- correct version in Clgx I/O

And if all that checks out, try another module

Yup it was a power problem. I didn't connect +24V and Common to the terminal block (1794-TB3). For some reason I thought it would get supply power from the flex bus. Oh well, learning is fun. Thanks for the help.
