I been working with Modicon PLC's / TCP infaces for the last 20 yrs and the plant went under. I found a job at a plant that is all AB and I am lost with some of the comm and RSview / Panelview. I need a good tutorial on Ethernet - TCP/IP, Data Highway for the comm and something on programming the interfaces. The plant has a wide variety of panel views and and the entire line of RSview it seems to me. I am not sure of all of AB's product line names. But it seems to me if AB sell's it these guys have bought it as far as interfaces go.

I come to you guys as a bunch of "experts" looking for direction. I guess we all have been in a ditch before and brothers I'm in one. Not looking for a spoon feed meal here, just some pointers to send me in a good direction. I got my foot in the door. Just got to stay there!

First check out their website, on the main page is a link to Literature (Documentation). http://www.ab.com/

On that page is also a link to Training, they have classes in ATL so might want to see if your employer would spring for a class or 2, I am sure with your background just one class would give you a big leap in getting familiar...at least it may provide enough so you will know where to look for info.

They also offer RSTrainer, CD training programs: http://www.rockwellautomation.com/services/training/cbt.html

Almost forgot, check this site on Ethernet IP: http://www.odva.org/default.aspx?tabid=67
