Not able to understand Control and Status words...Simovert Masterdrive.

Dear Experts,

I am using Simovert Masterdrive 6ES77032-1EG60-Z connected to S7-400 through CBP2 card 6ES7090-0XX84-0FF5. The problem is I am not able to understand the S7 program and after trying for several times I request your help.

In Hardware configuration I have found that Input address is 712..715 and output address is 536..539 for this drive...and PPO3 is being used...As far as I know PPO3 gives me 2 Words from PZD area and 2 Words into PZD area...



In S7 program PIB712 is moved into MB251, PIB713 is moved into MB250 and PIW714 is moved into MW3056 "process value".

Also, MB252 is moved into PQB537, MB253 is moved into PQB536 and MW1540 "setpoint" is moved into PQW538.




I have referred to the manual 6SE7087-6JK60 "control word and status word" - Chapter but I could not understand fully.

I would like to request you to guide me the significance of each bits so that I can understand the code.

Have you referred to this diagram in the compendium ?

Just now finished downloading the manual from siemens web site "SIMOVERT MASTERDRIVES Vector Control Compendium VC34 (Operating Instructions)".

I think it will more than 2 to 3 days to go thru the manual...As I dont have a habit of reading in PC...

I shall come back if required for any help.
