AB 1770KF2 and DH+

Yes it is. The connection PC-KF2 is "plain" serial.
In RSLInx you must choose "RS-232 DF1 devices", and then in the next dialog device="1770-KF2/1785-KE/SCANport".
There is a whole bunch of dipswitches on the KF2 box that have to be set right.
I have a paper somewhere about all the details.
In the end the connection will be painfully slow (because of 9600 baud between the PC and the KF2 box). But it will be at least useable.
I used it once with a modem connection which was even more fun.

Oh yes, I remember now that the KF2 has a strange 15-pin SUB-D connector on the DH+ side.
Very odd. Especially as on the enhanced classic PLC5s there was a 9-pin SUB-D connector.

pin 6: clear
pin 7: screen
pin 8: blue
If the KF2 is the last in the network, then remember the termination resistor between pins 6 and 8.

edited typo.

Thanks! Thats what I thought, but what got me was the db15 port! This is for a customer who called me who changed out there ISA card for an old kf2 they had (new comp, no ISA slot). I dont think its going to work for them well tho, as there are 12 plcs on the dh+ network, all with 2 13 slot racks. Going to be REALLY slow. Thanks Jesper!
