PLC Communication to RSLinx

Hello All,

I am a student at UTSA doing research with automation systems. I have had some experience with plcs in a steel mill i worked in but i never got to build any from the ground up. My problem is that I cant find any material telling me how to connect my SLC 500 5/03 cpu or my micrologix 1500 to rslinx thru my rs232 serial port in my computer. I keep playing with the drivers but i am not getting any where. I get an error "CIP general status 19." Do any of you have material that can tell me how to do this or any advice. open up rslinks go to the commuciations tab select configure drivers click on the drop down tab and select rs232 df1 devices then click on add new then o.k on the box that come's up select our comm port most likely com1 go down and click on auto-configure. before this set make sure the rs232 cable is connected to your plc.
