I was just looking back to some thermo notes: Laplacians, Lagrangians, gradients, fluxes, and stuff that makes my head spin. It made me wonder if anyone uses 3d graphs or visualization tools for their process - or this knarly math. Now before Pete sets me straight on the applicability of the math...
What are your 2 independent variables and your dependent variable? Are they subject to contraints? Is a surface graph helpful? Do you use a simulator or a program like Matlab?
I'm more interested in production applications or "real world" analysis. I could come up with plenty of my own research uses for a lab.
