communication cable/5/03 proc.

hello , i am trying to figure out how to comm. with a 5/03 slc processor using the rs232 port...........i can get online with a pic module and i have a serial cable that is labled DP-ABCBL-1 , not sure if those letter are significant.....
i tried using this with a null modem adapter did not work and i was wondering how or if you can do this , thanks for any help..

If the SLC503 supports RS232 then all you will need is a nul modem cable. Cross Tx and Rx over and connect the GND thru.

I belive that would translate to pin 2 to 3, 3 to 2 and 5 to 5, or is it 7 to 7?

Use 5 for the 9 pin, 7 is for a DB25 pin connector.
