We have a old traction machine with 4 DC motors (160V 22Kw). the power supply of machine is a set of paralell battry with 160VDC. i want to select a suitable DC drive for these motor.
Would you please help me?

The first very large question to answer is whether the motors are rated for smooth DC or whether they can take DC with significant amounts of ripple (AC) on top.

If the motors are designed for only smooth DC, they will overheat quickly on rectified power. Derating the hp by 30% might just keep them cool enough but its iffy.
