Hi, I just signed up here and have searched for an answer to this, but I must say I got sidetracked several times by all the good info here.
I have a Siemens TP170B touchscreen connected to a S7 300 series that has gone dark. It is still functional, but operators can not see it. Does anyone know if the backlight is replaceable on these units. No info found at Siemens.
Thanks for replies.

Hi jt5405.

Unfortunately Siemens no longer offers replacement backlighting on their panels. The last one that had that was the OP25 and OP35.
You can send it to Siemens for repair or exchange with a new.

If you do not have the project as a backup, then you can get an image out of the panel onto a flashcard, provided that you can see the screen - if ever so slightly - maybe try to put a lamp right close to the screen. Then use the Backup/Restore aplet in Windows Control Panel.
