Hi Folk,

What is the different between Simatic Softnet DP and Softnet S7?

I purchase from Siemens the Softnet Dp, 6GK 1704 5DW64 3AA0

when i install to workstation and run the Citect SCADA with CP5611,

S7 300 PLC , the NO LICENSE MESSAGE still pop up and ask me to buy

6GK 1704 5CW64 3AA0.

Any body can help on this?

Regards

Go to the Automation License Manager and in the middle of the screen click on "missing licenses" Its a drop down box
See whats missing and causing the message

Softnet DP is a rare piece of software. The big difference between the DP and S7 variants is that with DP you exchange data via socalled preconfigured i/o areas in both master and slave - whereas with S7 you have master-to-master comms, and the PC can access in principle any adress in the PLC.
Only advantage with DP over S7 is that DP can be much faster.
