The only solution Iam aware of is that you need to re-load the project into HMI after changing the password.
If you do download then do not forget to CHECK "Over write pasword list" which is asked while downloading.

Yes, it makes a difference if the project is made with Protool or WinCC Flexible.
You can know which one, if the panels ask for a username as well as a password.
No username = Protool. Then try with "100", or locate the password in the project file as komatic suggest.
With username = WinCC Flexible. Then you can only find the username+password from the project file.
