I connected to a FPG Sigma controller and uploaded and saved the program
then left the site .
I am using the FP Winpro demo version
The PLC FPG - C2 - 4R2 is controlling an HVAC unit
It is also connected to an A/D converter.
Not one function ,relay (internal/external)or register was labeled by the programmer.
Everything has the generic labels EX. R 9010
There are over 420 networks and 5200 lines of code
The manuals are helpful but a little vague on the following

Question
1) If I switch the module to program mode , reconnect
and open the FP Win Pro program
will I be able to monitor the actual numeric data in all
the functions and registers, and the state of the
relay contacts ?

2) The input/outputs in the A/D converter are considered external, but how are they labeled differently from the external input/outputs on the Main Sigma controller?

Thank you

No matter what you do , unless you have the original program with the labels you will not get labels, not sure about the Sigma but most of the Panasonic PLC's don't have memory capacity for remarks or comments to be loaded with the prog. so sorry but you won't get any comments or labels no matter what.

As to your questions

you do not need to switch the plc to prog mode to moniter your values , just click the set of glasses and you will see the values of all your inputs and outputs and all analog values.

question 2, I am not sure if they will be labeled differently or not that depends on who programmed it and how they labeled them.

belive me when I tell you that I know what you are going thru, been there , you just have to logically go thru the code, it may or may not get you anywhere unless you can find the original program WITH the comments and remarks
