I am looking at a customer's Panel View application in the version of software that they are using (v3.70).

I noticed that some of their alarm trigger tags are addressed using the forward slash bit method. ex. B15/32 instead of B15:2/0.

I remember that this used to not work properly. Has this been fixed?

Will their alarm still work?

At what version did this feature become available, or has it?

Ken Roach, are you out there?

Don't know what version it was added/fixed in but it definately works in 3.7(1) and 3.8

So long as the triggers in the PLC are programmed properly the alarms will work. ;)

I'm in Northern Idaho with a failed starter in my F-150, dialled up with two strands of barbed wire and a handful of lantern batteries, that's where I am.

And I'm not sure about the Word/Bit-of-Word or File/Bit-of-File, so I'm afraid I can't contribute much at this time.

I usually use a Word alarm trigger, so there's just one or two Words and I use the individual bits in those. The Alarm Tags are N7:X, but the Trigger Types are Bit Triggers.

I wish the PanelView forum over at RSI got this much traffic !

Yes, but.....

Yea, B15/32 is bit number 32 in Binary file 15, same as B15:2/0
The point was, the PB32 software wouldn't allow file/bit. It wouldn't validate. You had to type out file.word/bit I remember this too, but back then, I didn't use PB32 enough to remember which revision allowed "either" way. :D
