Addressing in Micrologix

This is probably a 'daft' question for someone who 'programs' for a living....

I have set up a project to use the ML 1500 along with 4x16 bit input cards and 2x16 bit output cards.

Now, the I/O map confuses me, the first expansion input card has taken up address I:1 as expected, but the ML shows 4x 16 bit input words in Slot 0? There are only 16 inputs built into the ML?

What am I not understanding here?
