Is it possible to add more RS232 or RS485 ports on Control Logix plat-form

Hi,
My system has 5-6 weight indicators including with RS232 or
RS485 port. I would like to communicate these weight indicators
via the control logix CPU (1756-L1M1). What the communcation cards
shall be used.

I've never seen one but I have seen little black boxes that convert Ascii to TCP/IP and will drop it exactly where you want it to go and each one supports 2 serial devices. I've only used them for barcode scanners.

Wow, L1 is old old old old.
Anyway, if you have ethernet in the rack, I've found these things http://www.rtaautomation.com/ethernetip/adaptivemicro/ to be incredibly useful. If not, you can probably do something with a ProSoft MVI Series module, they have multiple comms ports.

AB and Beckhoff also offer RS-232 moudles that can be connected to Device-net.
