Hello! I'm trying to connect MM420 to PC using STARTER software. All configuration step's on PC is OK, I think. But Starter enyweay doesn't recognize any connected hardware (MM420 in this case). Connection options: PROFIBUS (MM420) <-> COM (PC). Cable RS485 <-> RS232.
Profibus address on MM420 is configured.
Question is, is it necessary to configure any parametres on MM420 to rezlize connection or it's enough to set all parametres by default and STARTER should find the hardware.
Thanks. Valerijs.
Sorry for my english!

In PG/PC everything is OK. COM -> (USS).
Trying to connect, progressbar pauses on 25% and then quickly runs out till 100%. The message is something like "Cann't connect to target system....please check PG/PC, cable.." and so on. Reconfiguring STARTER doesn't help.
Have changed options, answer is the same even if options were wrong.
I mean doesn't matter what parametres do I enter.
That's the question, may be it's necessary configure MM420 to realize connection?

I have not access to the system at the moment. But I've checked the cable first of all...it seems OK. There is no USB COM converter.
So, the problems seems to be with cable? Then I'll try replace it.

If it's not necessary to configure MM420 by itself, then problem is either with cable, either with sofware (PG/PC). Thanks for help.
