Simple question.

Can a printer be connected to a PV600, and be configured to print out data?

I am proposing to use a panelview instead of a chart recorder for this project, but have not been able to get a direct answer as to whether or not a printer can be connected & configured to do what I want. I know it is possible in other platforms, but the customer has specified AB.

PV can only print alarms

I believe that it's only possible to print a screendump, sorry

This may work, if you could configure the PV to display the
log data to be printed, then use the ol 'printscreen' function?

Bugger, any suggestions to acheive what I want. Maybe by writing
to a flash card, then using PC to print instead?

The only "printing" feature in the PanelView Plus is a screen print feature. It works with USB or TCP/IP connected printers that support the Hewlett-Packard PCL 3 printer language.

Another method I have used is to load the KepServer Enterprise "User Configurable Driver" and use it to drive a serial-connected printer using ASCII protocol. It requires more work to set up and isn't as smooth as I'd like, but it does work.

Are you looking for a line-printer sort of output, or PDF file output, or some sort of graphical screendump ?

Hi ken,

I am looking to replicate what a chart recorder is doing, except not printing continuosly, end of batch maybe.

Can the screen print method be done directly from the PV itself?
