We have a chance to seperate our office and PLC networks. I somewhat of an understand the networking stuff but I need a better understanding so I can become self supporting. I don't need to become Cicso certified but would like to be able to manage our switches and not have to call IT every time we add a new system.

Does anybody have any recommendation on learning the IT side of our world?
