Siemens OP370 HMI backup

I am trying to carry out a software backup of the HMI, WinCC will not allow me to connect giving me "version" and other errors. I was able to backup some MP270's at the same clients via the keypad, and backing up to a memory card. But on the keypad on the MP370 it looks like there may be some protection, as I cannot get to the operating system..any ideas please.
