I'm just getting started with my G3 display. I have a tag that is reading pressure. I have a setpoint on the low end of the scale that is adjustable and an over pressure setting. When the pressure goes over the first adjustable setpoint I want to change the color of the pressure readout. Then if it gets to the over pressure setting I want to change it again. So maybe orange showing that its reached the first then red when it goes over.

When I look at the tag I have a color setting and a setpoint to change this color. However the setpoint is a preset value. This is good for the over pressure but not the adjustable setpoint.

I'm sure this can be done I am just having trouble getting there.

Thanks

So you want to have it change multiple colors, based on values that are variables?

The built in colors will not help, as they are fixed values. I have attached an example that will allow you to use tags as the limits. I made the colors silver-yellow-red since there is no orange without using a custom color.

I used a program that will accept arguments and return a value in case you need to do this for more than 1 value.

Dan

Is this what you mean ?

EDIT: ?!"?£!£!" Beaten to it again by RL !!

EDIT2: Must learn to read - missed part about adjustable pressure setpoints :( !

Dan, I see how your program works but I have one question. When is the program called? I would think there would be an "on-change" or something to tell it when to run.

Dave, Yours will work but its not done with variable setpoints.

Since the program returns a value, it is used for the value of the Color tag.

FYI, to find where a program (or tag) is used you can right-click on the name of the program (or tag) and choose Usage. It will give you a semi-detailed list of where it is being used. This is espcially hepful when values are changing that you think shouldn't be, only to find out you used the wring tag in a program or something.

Regards,
Dan
