Help on PLC -number input to register

This is in a Cryogenics application... Type T Thermocouples...I have Wonerware 8.0 HMI and a Modicon PLC/Concept programming software; I need to send a negative number to the PLC for an "auto" set-point for a PID controller on a small heater power controller. The PID1 SP is from a Type T temperature element; the PV from a %4K holding register...

Any Thoughts?
