Because I need counter port in this CPU.

No, S7-200 series CPU's do have high speed counter inputs, but software would need rewriting. Some s7-300's also have HSC inputs, and the s5-s7 conversion software might sort out a lot of the software.

If one has failed you shold be able to get replacements, either as second hand units or a reconditioned unit
