3G2C7-LK201-EV1 Cable to PLC

Hi all.

I have got a request to back-up a program from a Sysmac C28P PLC.

Searching all forums everyone agrees that I will need a 3G2C7-LK201-EV1 Host Link Adaptor , also with help from Jay Antony's upload I understood what kind of cable I need from pc to host link and how to do the settings.

What is unclear for me is what kind of cable I need from Host Link to PLC.

I have only a picture of the PLC where I can see a horizontal port of 48 pins, as well a cover in the left. We have any peripheral port under this cover?

I need to know as I have to buy a 3G2C7-LK201-EV1 but have to make sure what kind of cable I need . ( on ebay some of them have cables, others not)

The LK201 will plug directly onto the PLC plug. If you already have the host link cable diagram this is all you need.
There are (or rather was) a stand off cable available for the host link to PLC connection if you need to get into a tight space but if the PLC is easy to get to you will not need this (I think it was called a 3G2C7-CN122)

Now looking at the host link picture make sense as the port is outside frame.

Ok, I see the 3G2C7-LK201-EV1 is really hard to find.

What is the difference between this one and C20-LK201-EV1-U ?

For example if I will get the 3G2C7-CN122 cable, can I chop it
and use with other host link?

The unit I have is marked 3G2C7-LK201-EV1 and also C20-LK201-EV1. I under stand these are the same thing. Not sure what the "U" on the end of your part number refers to.
There is another unit called a C120-LK201-EV1 (which looks exactly the same) - this is for a different series of Omron PLC's and will not work on your C28P.
The cable fits both of these host links and is basically a stand off cable to extend the plug of the PLC (i.e. pin 1 to pin 1, pin 2 to pin 2 etc...) not realy much point unless you PLC is in a tight spot and then it becomes invaluable.

Going back some years now but there are 2 versions, one only worked on C20 but the other worked on C20, 500 etc. so be carefull.

Parky, this is what I am trying to find out.

I never used one and searching the forums there is not much information which one is which.

And the problem, according with Murphy's Law, if there is a chance not to work, then it will not work.

I think C120-LK201-V1 (3G2A6-LK201) cannot be used with C28P. It works with C120, C500, C200H, C1000H etc. You can use 3G2C7-LK201 with C28P.

So definitely I will not use the C120.

Lately I found an unit called C20-LK201-EV1-U.

From forums I found that C20-LK201-EV1 is same as 3G2C7-LK201-EV1 and Woody confirmed it for me.

Now seems like EV1 stands for english version.
My problem now is to see about the "U" at the end if it is
some hidden trap ( like only for C20 units, and not C**K or C**P ones )

Aaaaa, sorry all for the stupid question.
Aparently the "U" stands for "used" on that site.

Anyway.

If I will not get a host link what about the handheld programmer.
C200H-PR027-E ( see shoud be used with 3G2A5-AP003 and C200H-CN222)

Any known problem with it?
What is the key sheet used for?

As per the C Series PLC catalogue, C200H-PRO27 cannot be used with CxxP (It is categorically shown in the diagram that it can be used with CxxK and not with CxxP and C20). But the CxxP Operation Manual (W168-E1-1B) mentions it in the Standard Models section as usable with CxxP.

I have used 3G2A6-PRO15 with CxxP, which mounts on the CPU.

Hope that book is wrong...

I do not have that book, but as you said in C60P manual says I can use it, as well as in other manual I found about PLC programming tools for Omron says it is OK.

Hi all,

Ended up buying from Ebay the C200H-PRO27 console together with C500-AP003 adapter.

It worked quite well, luckily program had only 84 lines so it was easy just to copy it into a word file.

Anyway, after I finished I didn't resist and connect the USB-CIF02 cable into the adapter.
( from various books I have seen that the console and the cable can go to same peripheral port )

Anyway nothing happened, nor good, nor bad, but I did not get any connection on CX-ONE.

Just out of curiosity, anyone else tried that?

I have an old c1000h plc, I have the interface adapter c120-lk201-ev1, anybody knows if the cable pinout i have is good for them? I have db9 to db 25(2 to 2, 2 to 3, 5 to 7, and db9 short 4&6 and 7&8, db25 short 4&5)
