Using DRVA command to drive stepper to a known (absolute) distance. I would like to be able to change that distance while the stepper is in motion, without interruption.

For Example:
I am moving from 0 to 5000 pulses at 'x' frequency.
At 500 Pulses, I want to shorten the distance to 3000 pulses.
It appears the DRVA will not allow a distance change until it is re-energized. Two DRVA commands back to back cause a studder. Is there an easy way to get around this, or a command that I am not aware of?
