Thanks guys for your responses regarding my query on S5 SIMATIC v3.0

To make myself clearer, I'm experiencing no problems whilst running the program on my 486 laptop, the problem becomes apparent whilst running the program on my home PENTIUM computer.

What operating systems are you running on your laptop and your home PC. Could it be the case that your laptop is formatted in FAT16 and your home PC in FAT32 or NTFS?

As S5 V3 is an old DOS program, it might not like your FAT32/NTFS disk?

Just a thought.
