I have a Siemens S7 CPU412-2 with an CP443-1 ethernet card. On a PC we have installed Wonderware SCADA software with a Woodhead Direct Link PLC Communication driver. The Woodhead I/O driver uses a parallel port license key (A sentinel driver is used to tie the Woodhead software license to this hardware dongle).
My problem is that I have been getting intermittent communication problems between the PLC and SCADA. The whole system has been up and running with the current configuration but after a recent reboot of the PC we have lost comms (and cannot see any live data on the SCADA graphic).
The Communications on the PLC ethernet card look fine
LEDS TXD and RXD are flashing green.
The link on Port 2 of the card (where the ethernet cable is installed) is solid green and the RX/TX LED is flashing.
Similarily the comms on the PC ethernet card are good and the ethernet connection is enabled and running.
No dirver settings have changed.
I have tried rebooting the PC and cycling power to the PLC but have had no luck.
Does anybody have any experience with this type of setup?
Thanks in advance
