Hello,

I know this is off topic, but i also know you guys are all very knowledgeable. I am having trouble finding any particular documentation on what color a Control Power Reset P.B. needs to be, I have tried searches regarding standard Regs, but have come up blank. I am guessing I am not using the proper terminology, which is causing the poor search results. This was stemmed from a UK customer sales rep saying the button should be Blue, when it is normally Amber on our controls, any help would be great.

Thanks,

Jamie

In my experience it has been an industry type preference, I too have used blue or amber, with amber being the most common.
I'm not sure there are any specific regulations on this subject, however I could be wrong, as I know the Europeans are more likely to have it documented than anyone else.
Personally, on matter like this I'll pretty much do whatever the customer asks for (within reason of course).

The 'NFPA 79 - Electrical Standard for Industrial Machinery' provides these guidelines for equipment. The 2007 edition is the latest.

Non-illuminated reset push buttons should be Blue, Black, White, or Gray.
A Blue illuminated push button should be used for a "mandatory action".
