sls5/05 on ethernet

I'm having trouble getting communication with my SLC 5/05 using ethernet. I'm connected to the SLC ethernet port with a cross over cable to my laptop. The SLC 5/05 I.P. address is 100.100.100.101. My laptop I.P. address is set at 100.100.100.102 with a subnet mask of 250.250.250.0. The driver congured is the AB_ETH-1. am using RSLinx classic ver 2.51 I can't see the processor in RSLinx. When I try and go on line I get "No response from processor at selected path/node Diagnostics status failed Ox4" When i go to windows start/run/CMD I can ping the processor and it answers back. Can anybody see anything i've done wrong

When you created you Ethernet driver did you remember to put the PLC's IP address in "Station Mapping" in the Configuration? It is an easy step to miss. I will not go out and "Find" Ethernet devices you need to list them.

Are you using a cross over cable?

Your subnet mask seems odd. I would expect it to be 255.255.255.0 Although if you can ping the SLC, that would point to the setup in RSLinx.
