For an Allen Bradley PowerFlex 4, what is the correct setting for P033 (Motor Overload current)? Is it the Motor Name Plate current, or is it Motor NP current times Service factor, or is it Motor NP current times 1.5 or something else?

A drive specialist told me to use Motor NP current times 1.5 which seems high to me.

This is for a small 480VAC, 0.5 and 1HP drives.

Set it to the motor FLA. The drive takes care of the 150% for you. They should call it Motor Nameplate Amps, because that is what you should enter. If the curent exceeds 150% of your P033 setting for 60 seconds, or 200% for 3 seconds, the drive will fault for "Overload".

There are other paramters in which you can derate the motor, or set an instantaneous current trip point.

Agree with okie.
FLA is what we use.
Derating can be done by setting up a couple more parameters in the drive, did not have to use any so far.(A089 and one more, not sure which one, check the manual).

to clarify, FLA is the nameplate amps x 125%, or NPA x 1.25 = FLA

of course, if the nameplate states FLA,. then this calculation isn't needed

No, OkiePC has it right. Enter nameplate amps. The drive uses this value to do the thermal overload protection and, on PWM power the service factor is always 1.0. This is not the same as figuring heaters for an overload block.
