Float Data files

What are float data files and when should they be used?

They store numeric information in (generally) 32 Bit IEEE-754 Format.

They are used when you want to deal with decimal values directly in calculations, or when plain old integer numbers won't cut it.

They are not as accurate as a true numeric format however.
