Communication with PV1000

I am experiencing problem with communication to a PanelView 1000 CAT 2711-AT-T10C9. I am using the DF1 Point-to-Point Transfer using the standard RS-232 Cable.



I have no problem with communication with the PanelView 300. The baud rate that I have the 1000 terminal set at is 19200, which is the specified setting. Also, I am using PanelBuider32 Ver.03.81

Something that I am over looking?

randy, your catalog number indicate a DH-485 Panelview... the port is RS-232, but protocol isn't DF1.

You have to setup the use of RSLinx (configured as DH-485) driver from Panelbuilder32 download options.

Have a look to the post in the link, it is a similar case; there you may find some infos about connection and settings.

it mentions that 2711-T10C9 has Two RS232 ports
one with RS485 protocol
Another for Printer only.

You need to configure DH485 Driver for the Com port of your programming terminal in PanelBuilder 32 software.

You may test communication in RSLinx, by configuring the DH485 driver for the PV.
