Good Morning ,

I have another plant that wants to stick with all Siemens. What is the Siemens equivalent to the following Allen Bradley
devices. If you could point me in the best direction that would
help. I really don't care for the Siemens website that much.

Thanks in advance,

AB Siemens S-7 200 or S-7 300

1756-ENBT

1794-Flex I/O EtherNetIP

MicroLogix 1100 EthernetIP
with Flex I/O

A direct comparison is not always possible.
Here is my go at it:

1756-ENBT
S7-200: CP243-1 (but no i/o slaves !)
S7-300: CP343-1 (requires the CP to be latest version to be able to control i/o slaves via ethernet). Alternatively use a CPU with onboard PN port.

1794-Flex I/O EtherNetIP
ET200S with ProfiNet interface module (IM151-3)

MicroLogix 1100 EthernetIP..
S7-200 with CP243-1 or ET200S with IM151-8 CPU.

..with Flex I/O
ET200S with ProfiNet interface module (IM151-3)
Sidenote: As far as I know, the Ethernet/IP port on a ML1100 cannot be used to control i/o !

Generally, communication is easier to setup and use in AB ControlLogix than in Siemens S7. For example, you cannot just browse through a rack with a CP343-1 as you can with a ControlLogix with an ENBT. You can setup routing to go from one network to another, but it is not as seamless as with AB.

To control i/o via Ethernet (=Profinet) it is recommended to use a CPU with an onboard Profinet port, i.e. 315-2PN/DP or IM151-8.
