Inview memory problem

I've been using the Inview 2706-P22R (small unit) and have had no problems. Suddenly (on one old unit and one new unit) it displays "memory cleared" on power-up, and I have to re-load the memory. Obviously, I can't re-load the memory each time power is interrupted, but I can't find any troubleshooting information. What would cause this?
