S7 MPI to RS232 converter

Has anyone had problems with continuous use of the MPI converter? I used one recently to connect a PLC to a SCADA and the unit has failed. Asking around, it appears that they are not suitable for continuous use.
Additionally, I replaced it with a version 5.1 converter and doesn't work. I got hold of a V5.0 unit and this worked again. (For how long?)

MPI to RS232

Have you considered using a RS232 comm processor. Each series of the S7 family have one. The 300 series is a CP341-1. Part # 6ES7 341-1AH01-0AE0.

I recommend people to use a CP5613. The MPI adapter draws current from the programming port and is restricted to 19,200 or 38,400 kb. serial port speed. The CP5613 can run MPI to the computer bus at 1.5mb

TIA PORTAL can't be linked to S7-314C- 2DP, via MPI

We have a portal TIA V13, the USB cable adapter 6ES7 972-0CB20-0XA0, but after plagin the usb cable, there is only the PPI protocol through Com4 in On-Line access, so the MPI protocol doesn't appear, the first problem is that the driver is only supported by windows XP, i know that the portal TIA has it's driver integrated, I have already activated the port MPI in the configuration device level.
