Hi all, I set 1756-IF16 Analog input card's input range to 0 ~ 20 mA. 20 mA is equal to 20000 Engineering unit. Is it possible to get input more than 20000 in case the mA is 21 mA. Thanks a lot.

The input scaling simply defines what engineering unit (EU) should represent 0mA and what EU should represent 20mA. If the signal goes beyond 20mA, then your value will continue above the 20000 you defined for 20mA. Likewise if you defined 4mA as 0 (EU) then if your signal dropped below 4mA then your EU would be a negative value.

The module you are using is capable of detecting a signal from 0 - 20.58mA.

In addition, the out of range bits are not set at the 4ma and 20ma like the 1771-IFE. They are actually at 0 and 20.58.
