Is there a specified number of nodes limit for MODBUS TCP? I don't see one in the specification. I know that MODBUS RTU has a limit of 247.

Isn't Modbus TCP on an Ethernet network? That would make it unlimited in theory but there will be a practical limit based on network traffic. I think the 247 RTU limit you're speaking of is the Modbus address limits of 0-255. Modbus Plus can only have 32 nodes unless you use repeaters. Check out Modbus Org there should be information on Modbus TCP there.
